The Sitting Time

Don't listen to the foolish unbelievers
who say forget.
Take up your armful of roses and remember them,
the flower and the fragrance.
When you go home to do your sitting
in the corner by the clock
and sip your rosethorn tea
It will warm your face and fingers
and burn the bottom of your belly.
But as her gone-ness piles in white,
crystal drifts,
It will be the blossom of her moment
the warmth of your belly,
the tiny fingers unfolding,
the new face you've always known,
That has changed you
Take her moment and hold it
as every mother does.
She will always be your
daughter
and when the sitting is done you'll find
bitter grief could never poison
the sweetness of her time.

Our daughter Melissa, found this very elaborate picture Michelle had drawn SOON after Michelle parted in their nightstand, beside their bed. This picture says captioned on top, "MRS. America." Notice, the little girl next to mommy has "wings" and her feet do not touch the ground? Mother is touching the ground and has no wings! I believe that Michelle was thinking of me as Mrs. America and she as Miss America in this drawing. They BOTH wear a Crown and they are BOTH INSIDE OF A CROWN!! I have titled this picture THE CROWN OF MANY CROWNS!!! It reminds me of "our crowns we gain in Heaven..." Love, Cindyjo

Time has come and gone since you went away,
Twenty years and yet yesterday..

Your precious sweet smile still lingers,
In my heart I caress your auburn silk with my fingers~

I touch your cheek with a kiss,
And look into your sparkly green eyes I so miss~

I hug you and embrace your very being
For this moment it is you I am truly seeing..

Time has stood still, and yet time has flown by,
I have laughed for the good times and Lord knows I have cried~

For now we celebrate Easter once again,
To remind us of our rebirth to this promised Land..
